RENNSPORT Announces Console Versions For 2025 Release

RENNSPORT is a free-to-play photo-realistic racing simulation game that is currently in Early Access on Steam. The game is aiming to become an online competition platform for car enthusiasts with ranked races, leagues and leaderboards.

Today the developer of RENNSPORT announced that the game will not only be launching its 1.0 version on PC later this year but they will also be releasing it on Playstation 5  and the Xbox Series X|S with full cross-play compatibility.

This announcement also comes with a new Early Access update for the game on Steam. With the release of the 1.12.12 Update players can now expect a new Safety Rating Calculation. This improved system will be an attempt at fixing some of the issues with the current system.

From now on instead of calculating based on Incident Points for each individual race, a new more consistent approach will be taken. Players Incident Points will now be translated into Safety Points based on the percentage of Incident Points compared to the Incident Limit.

These Safety Points are then used to calculate your Safety Rating, averaging out your most recent 50 races to determine your score. The maximum Safety Rating has now also been increased from 5.0 to 8.0 to give more room for growth.

The new update also comes with physics overhauls for the GT3 cars and the BMW M2 CS Racing with reworked tires and improvements to ABS and TC systems. The developers have announced that similar reworks will happen for other classes of cars moving forward.

A number of telemetry channels have been added with this new update along with a number of bug fixes for gameplay and the UI. Collisions have now also been turned off at the start of races until the light turns green.
